Witness the marvel of the Christmas story. Wilton Congregational Church’s Christmas pageant, “A Night in Bethlehem: The Peace & Promise of Christmas,” is a multi-generational production, filled with beautiful music, dramatic lighting, scenery, and authentic costumes. It will be staged on Sunday, Dec. 15 at 10 a.m.
It’s not too late to join the cast–there are roles for adults, teens and youth. Organizers are still looking for angels, shepherds, narrators, and even manger animals–no experience needed, they said. They also need help with staging, props and costumes. “Anyone is welcome to attend and there is no cost of admission. We hold the pageant in the Sanctuary. We have a full set, professional lighting, sound, costumes–the works! There are parts for adults, teens and our youth…and we have a real ‘Baby Jesus,'” Merola wrote in an email to GOOD Morning Wilton. “Right now I have about 50 in the cast and I have several teens and adults helping backstage with the spotlights, sound equipment, musical instruments, staging, props, etc.”
Merolla also added that, “the script includes lines for most of the characters, beautiful music, and an Angel dance, all taking the audience back in time, as the cast reenacts the marvel of the Christmas story, experiencing Bethlehem on the evening Jesus was born. The kids have a lot of fun and most do it year after year and eventually they know every line in the show.”
