Say it ain’t so! One of Wilton’s favorite coffee shops, the Coffee Barn, will be closing as of Aug. 1. A sign went up on the front door of the Danbury Rd. cafe announcing the coming closure.
According to the posted note, the Coffee Barn will close after eight years when the owner relocates to Florida.
“Established in 2011, Coffee Barn has enjoyed serving Wilton, Weston, Ridgefield and surrounding areas for 8 years! We want to thank your loyal customers and especially our regular guests who have made our jobs so enjoyable,” the note reads.
The message also encourages customers to use any gift cards in their possession before Aug. 1–and stop in to say goodbye before the last day.
For anyone worried about the Coffee Barn employees, the note says that the staff will be “returning or beginning college in the fall and we wish them much success and happiness.”
Summer hours are in effect through Aug. 1: Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-2 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday, 8 a.m.-1 p.m.. The Coffee Barn is located at 392 Danbury Rd./Rte. 7.
