Picking the name of a restaurant is hard! So much goes into the decision—it’s as much about the way the food tastes on the tongue as it is the way the restaurant name rolls off the tongue!
So it was for Cristina Ramirez and Mario Lopez, the owners of Bianco Rosso. When they couldn’t decide what name to give their new Wilton restaurant, opening sometime this summer in the spot formerly held by Bon Appetit Cafe at 5 River Rd., they asked GOOD Morning Wilton readers for a little help. Almost 300 of you cast your vote for what the name should be, and many of you offered up great suggestions.
Thanks to your help, they’ve decided to call the new spot… Craft Kitchen + Bar.
“We were looking for something meaningful, short, just one word,” says Cristina, who added that she and Mario both love that it starts with the letter ‘C,’ since it’s also the first letter of her own name.
It was a name they had considered before the poll, but when she read it among the list of suggested names submitted by readers, it struck a chord. “I said, that is the one!” Cristina adds.
Both Mario and Cristina were grateful for the suggestions. “All the people were really helpful and creative, I really enjoyed reading all the names and what votes people cast. It was great,” she says.
In addition, we’ve randomly selected one winner from the list of people who submitted names and emails. The lucky recipient of a $100 gift certificate for dinner for two at Bianco Rosso is… Jessica Batista. Congratulations, Jessica!
And congratulations to Wilton, too, as we get to look forward to the opening of a delicious, fun new eatery. See you all this summer at Craft Kitchen + Bar!
