DESCRIPTION:Wilton Go Green and Cannon Grange are teaming up to host Wilton’s first Repair Café on Saturday\, April 22\, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.\n\n\nDon’t throw away something that can be fixed!  The Repair Café will provide the opportunity for members of our community to not only try and repair a treasured item\, but also to learn alongside our volunteer fixers.\n\n\nThe Repair Café will be organized into two categories:\n\n\nRepairs: volunteer fixers will bring their tools and spare parts\, look at your item\, and assess what they can do to help.  Bring items such as bicycles\, jewelry\, clothing\, small appliances\, and toys.\n\n\nConsultations: volunteer experts will be on hand to talk with you and answer your questions. Area residents are invited to exhibit a variety of baked goods and culinary arts\, homegrown vegetables\, fruit\, flowers\, hand crafts\, sewing & needlework\, photography\, small farm animals\, eggs and photography.\n\n\nThe Cannon Grange Fair recalls Wilton’s rural and agrarian past\, and provides an opportunity for children\, youth\, adults and families to enjoy the exhibits inside the historic Grange Hall and on its grounds located in the heart of Cannondale Village. Several state-level baking contests are available from the Association of CT Fairs with their Adult Baking\, Junior Baking and 2-Crust Apple Pie Contests. Both concessionaires and area Non-Profits will also show on the fair grounds.\n\n\nA new baking contest is being inaugurated in 2019 with the “Dave Barrett–Cannon Grange Perpetual Trophy” contest. Dave and his wife Joyce have been avid fair participants\, having won many baking contests in previous years. Dave succumbed to illness last year and we’ve renamed this special contest in Dave’s memory.\n\n\nFind a Fair Book\, with all the rules and requirements for submitting entries\, at area merchants\, or online. DESCRIPTION:Wilton’s historic Cannon Grange Hall presents a triple feature of Laurel & Hardy silent movies with live piano accompaniment on Saturday\, March 23 at 7 p.m.. Grange member and Wilton resident John Mucci will present the movies and provide a dazzling piano score to each of the movies. This is a wonderful activity for children\, adults\, teens\, youth groups. Free parking at the Cannondale Railroad Station across the road from the Cannon Grange. Refreshments will be available.
