SUMMARY:Trekking Together — Migrating Bird Guided Nature Hike
DESCRIPTION:This hike starts and ends at the Woodcock Nature Center’s Orange Trail Trailhead\, located at the end of Gilly Lane\, Wilton.\n\n\nWilton Land Trust’s guided hike is in celebration of World Migratory Bird Day! Among birders\, this is known as the Global Big Day — a day to get out and see as many bird species as possible! Together\, participants will walk the trail across Spectacle Lane and into the Wilton Land Trust’s Spectacle Lane Trail to look and listen for birds\, and learn about the forest and its various habitats.\n\n\nWLT’s Executive Director will help attendees see the forest through the trees and Woodcock educator and birding enthusiast Tommy McCarthy will share his knowledge of all the species encountered.\n\n\nSo\, grab a water bottle\, supportive shoes\, tick and bug repellant\, a camera\, and binoculars\, and join WLT and Woodcock for a morning of adventure and learning. And don’t forget — leave furry friends at home\, so they don’t scare away any potential wildlife!\n\n\nThe Wilton Conservation Trust is a community-focused nonprofit organization that conserves land\, protects biodiversity\, enhances ecosystems\, and builds community.\n\n \n\n\nThe Woodcock Nature Center has been a source of environmental and nature education since 1972. DESCRIPTION:Join Woodcock Nature Center for an immersive trek through Wilton’s beautiful environment. Journey from Woodcock Nature Center’s Orange Trail across Spectacle Lane and into WLCT’s Spectacle Land Trail. The trek will take you through a meadow\, beside a pond\, and next to a stream\, with some uneven terrain and occasional larger rocks to traverse. The pace will be set to keep the whole group together\, while knowledgeable naturalists will be pointing out the flora\, fauna\, geological features\, and birds encountered along the way.\n\n\nThe hike starts and ends at the Woodcock Nature Center’s Orange Trail on Gilly Lane. Please park along the edge of the road in the cul-de-sac.\n\n\nPlease leave your K9 companions at home so as not to scare off any wildlife.\n\n\nRegister on Woodcock Nature Center’s website.\n\n\n\n\n	See more related GMW stories...

SUMMARY:Trekking Together: A Spring Guided Hike of the North Wilton Trail
DESCRIPTION:The Wilton Land Conservation Trust and the Woodcock Nature Center are working together to enrich the Wilton community. As partners\, they are providing opportunities for families to get out and explore the outdoors. Together\, they created a unique opportunity for participants to learn about Wilton’s environment while walking through it with staff naturalists.\n\n\nThis hike starts and ends at the Woodcock Nature Center’s Orange Trail on Gilly Lane. Participants will traverse across spectacle land and into WLCT’s Spectacle Land Trail. The group will explore a combination of forests\, meadows\, rivers\, and wetlands. Staff naturalists will point out wildlife flora\, fauna\, geological features\, and of course\, birds! Questions along the way are welcomed and encouraged. No dogs please.\n\n\nParking: Woodcock Nature Center\, Gilly Lane entrance. For GPS coordinates\, enter Gilly Lane\, Wilton CT.
