Listen for and identify bird songs and frog calls\, pass by vernal pools where frogs and salamanders have laid their eggs\, and explore around the preserve’s gorgeous freshwater stream in search of spring ephemerals – the earliest flowers to bloom after the season changes! This walk is a fantastic opportunity to explore gorgeous natural surroundings and learn all about the waking world of spring!\n\n\nThis program is run in partnership with the Wilton Land Trust and Woodcock Nature Center.\n\n\nThis event is free. DESCRIPTION:Join members of Wilton Land Trust and Woodcock Nature Center as they lead you on a hike to explore the world of spring ephemerals. You’ll have the chance to spot\, identify\, and learn about a variety of ephemerals\, including trillium\, bloodroot\, twin leaf\, false rue anemone\, and wild ginger.\n\n\nSo\, grab your water bottle\, supportive shoes\, tick repellant\, camera\, and binoculars for a morning of adventure and learning.  Don’t forget to leave your furry friends at home so we don’t scare away any potential wildlife!\n\n\nThe hike starts and ends at the Trailhead of Marble/Van Haelewyn Center Richards Preserve\, located at the end of Abbott Lane in Wilton.  To register for the hike\, visit the Wilton Land Trust’s website.\n\n\n\n\n	See more related GMW stories...
