Wilton High School’s varsity basketball team is running a Youth Basketball Tournament this Sunday, Aug. 19. The team is inviting rising 4th through 8th grade boys to sign up for a fun-filled, competitive basketball tournament that allows kids to compete to win prizes in three different ways:  three vs. three games, knockout and a free throw contest.

Interested players can register on the event webpage. Players can form their own teams in advance–sign up individually and email organizer Kara Smith with the team list of three players.

Alternatively, players do not need to form their own teams. Individuals in grades 4th-6th and 7th-8th will be assigned to teams after registration.

Proceeds from the tournament will support the WHS Boys Basketball team’s effort to participate in a December 2018 tournament in Orlando, FL.

The Festival will be held this Sunday, Aug. 19 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon, at the Comstock Basketball Courts outside Comstock Community Center (180 School Rd.)   Rain Date is Aug. 26.

Disclosure: One of the players is the son of GMW’s editor.
