The Wilton Democratic Town Committee is urging its members and all concerned Wiltonians to take part in the second annual Women’s March, taking place on Saturday, Jan. 20 in cities across the country. Last year local groups of women and men attended marches in Washington DC, New York City, Stamford and Hartford.

The DTC will assemble a group traveling to the New York City Women’s March, which kicks off at 11 a.m. at 62nd St. and Central Park West. The group will gather at the South Norwalk railroad station, take the 8:39 a.m. train to Grand Central, and take mass transit to the park.

“At a troubling time for this country, women have been our nation’s conscience and inspiration,” says acting DTC chair Tom Dubin. “They have advocated not only for their own rights but for the rights of all Americans. Last year’s Women’s March in many ways ignited this powerful movement, and we are proud to support it again this year.”

The mission of the March, according to organizers, is “to harness the political power of diverse women and their communities to create transformative social change.”

Those interested in joining the New York City march group, or obtaining information on Women’s March activities in other cities, or connecting with local groups attending those marches should contact the DTC’s Jackie Kremer via email.
