If you love the cool and dry weather, then you are certainly going to love this forecast for Wilton’s upcoming week (Sept. 12-18). Lots of sunshine and seasonable temperatures in the 70’s will be the story for much of next seven days.

Monday, Sept. 12: A large, strong area of high pressure will build into the Northeast beginning Monday. With this high pressure, clouds won’t be allowed to form, so abundant sunshine will be the day’s story. It will also be a cool and crisp day with refreshing, fall-like air. Temperatures will be in the mid 70’s following a chilly morning of readings in the mid 50’s.
Tuesday, Sept. 13: Today will be slightly warmer with a high of 80 degrees, although it will still be a cool morning–great weather to go for a run though! These comfortable temperatures will be accompanied by beautiful, sunny skies.
Wednesday, Sept, 14: As we progress into the middle of the week, high pressure will push out to sea to the east as a cold front moves through town in the evening. Ahead of this cold front, there will be sunshine and sticky conditions in the morning, which will lead to the chance for a couple showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon. We’ve got about a forty percent chance for rain with these hit-or-miss storms.
Thursday, Sept. 15: A new, similar area of high pressure will migrate back into the Northeast region, cooling temperatures and bringing back the gorgeous sunshine Thursday. Surprisingly, temperatures will only peak into the low-to-mid 70’s. Also, air will be dry as a bone with dew points around 40 degrees, so if you love cool, dry air, then you’ll definitely love Thursday.

Friday, Sept. 16: The weather will continue to stay nice to end the work or school week on Friday with mostly sunny skies. You’ll want a sweatshirt or light jacket if you’re standing at the bus stop Friday morning with cool temperatures in the low 50’s. Later on in the evening, you might want to enjoy dinner outside with pretty comfortable conditions.
Saturday, Sept. 17: Moving to the weekend, that’s when the beautiful, fall-like weather pattern changes. Expect a few scattered showers throughout the day. As of now, most of the wet activity will occur Saturday morning, so don’t cancel any of your outdoor activities yet. The only positive about Saturday is that the humidity and temperatures won’t be that different compared to earlier in the week.
Sunday, Sept. 18: Sunday looks wet with showers and thunderstorms, but this time the action looks more likely to occur in the afternoon where the precipitation may get heavy at times. A lot of moisture from the Gulf of Mexico will find its way to Wilton to fuel these storms. This day may be an afternoon washout, but at least it will help with the moderate drought we’re in.
