It was an absolutely stunning weather day for Ambler Farm Day this year, as well over 1,500 people attended Wilton’s annual fall festival on Sunday, Oct. 5. From hay rides to apple slingshot to the dunking booth to scarecrow making, abundant produce and so much more, it was a great celebration of an annual Wilton tradition.

Check out all the action in GOOD Morning Wilton‘s photos from the event, below, and then read a thank-you letter from Friends of Ambler Farm Executive Director Ashley Kineon.

25th Ambler Farm Day: A Spectacular Day at the Farm

To the Editor:

On Sunday, Oct. 5, we celebrated our 25th Annual Ambler Farm Day! Thousands from Wilton and beyond enjoyed this iconic Wilton tradition that marks the beginning of fall. The spectacular sunny and warm weather mirrored the day which was filled with joy, laughter and community spirit. This signature event is also one of our largest annual fundraisers. Friends of Ambler Farm is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit which was established in 2005, six years after the Town purchased the property in 1999, to manage the daily operations on behalf of the Town.

Ambler Farm Day is truly about community supporting community, and this year was no exception. In that spirit, we would like to express our thanks to our invaluable 100-plus volunteers (both adults and youths) who joined us. People have asked, was it successful? The answer is a resounding, “Yes!” Success is measured in many ways. In addition to a fundraiser, this event is also a friend-raiser! The sheer number of attendees, smiling faces, friends volunteering together and more demonstrates connections that were made yesterday. That is priceless. We’re thrilled so many attendees were part of something truly special on Sunday!

We are especially grateful for our Ambler Farm sponsors this year: ASML, Tauck, media sponsor GOOD Morning Wilton, Village Market, Orem’s Diner, Revity3, Seven Acres Montessori, Stew Leonard’s, Caraluzzi’s, Redding Veterinary Hospital, Ring’s End, Riverbrook Regional YMCA, Wilton Go Green, Wilton Hardware and Wilton Soccer Association.

We would like to acknowledge our dedicated supporters including: Ambler Farm’s own Apprentices, Blue Hill Orchard, Curbside Compost, Durants Rentals, Freedom Field Lining, Kuss Farm, Maida Designs, Present Company Band, A Royal Flush, STA, Wilton Girl Scouts, Wilton Historical Society, the Town of Wilton, the Turnover Shop of Wilton, Untangled, Wilton CERT, Wilton Department of Public Works, Wilton Fire Department, Wilton Police Department, Wilton Parks and Recreation and Wilton Volunteer Ambulance Corps. Thanks to the food trucks who offered up delicious options: Bubble and Brew, Freddy’s Platos, Greek Style Grill, Little Pub, Silver Sands Pizza and Skip’s Ice Cream Co.

We offer a special thanks to the local bakers who generously donated hundreds of delicious baked goods with a special shout out to Kate McInerney who baked dozens of sweet treats. We thank our brave volunteers who took the plunge in the Dunk Tank: Weston Fire Department‘s Nelson Bukov, Miller-Driscoll School‘s Coach Conner Labreck, Wilton Fire Department‘s Capt. Kevin Czarnecki and Capt. Michael Blatchley, GOOD Morning Wilton’s Heather Borden-Herve, YMCA Camp Director Mike Kazlaukas, Wilton High School Football Coach Edward Dinunzio, Wilton Police Ofc. Brandon Harris and Ambler Farm apprentices. A big thank you goes out to our ASML volunteers who staked and secured the hay maze.

Finally, special thanks goes to our incredible team responsible for curating and executing our special events. Events Director Laura Guzewicz and Events and Sponsorship Leader Amy Devore dedicated months ensuring the day would be fun and safe for all! Thanks to our Board of Directors for their support and helping hands. Thanks to our staff supporting Laura and Amy behind the scenes: Program Director Kevin Meehan and Assistant Program Director Kazuma Nobumoto; Kara Berghaus for coordinating our volunteers; Betsy Back; Robyn Reeves; Finance Manager Adrienne Calderone; and Director of Agriculture Jonathan Kirschner and his team including our dedicated farm stand volunteers for the countless hours they share with us at the Farm.

A final thanks to everyone who attended! We look forward to seeing you at the Farm again soon.
