Position:   Summer First Aid Coordinator 

Employer:  Ambler Farm
Job Description: 
Do you love working with kids? Are you skilled in managing First Aid in a camp setting? Ambler Farm Summer Camp is looking for a First Aid Coordinator to manage all first aid situations at the camp, as well as manage the paperwork and individual plan of care for campers with medical concerns. Ambler Farm Summer Camp is a unique setting that offers everyone a chance to connect with the land, the animals, and each other while experiencing the outdoors. 

  • Part-time, 8:15 a.m.-2 p.m., Monday-Friday 
  • May 31-August 16
  • Pay will be based on experience.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Work with the Summer Camp Director to manage all First Aid responsibilities and duties regarding camper health and safety
    • Administration of camper forms, including licensing management, roster preparation, communications with parents and more.
    • Administer first aid as needed, maintain an accurate and organized medical log, inventory all first aid supplies, oversee individual medical plans for each camper, and ensure staff have all the tools to assess a medical situation 
  • Perform all tasks to maintain State Licensing Regulations 
  • Safely store epi-pens, inhalers, etc. in a safe location 
  • Communicate with parents regarding medical concerns during camp 
  • Group leader in small group meetings and manage sign-in process 
  • Oversee and advise staff on Individual Plan of Care for campers
  • Role model for participants and staff, arrive every day with an inclusive, professional, upbeat, and positive attitude 
  • Act as a liaison with Camp Doctor 
  • Support ongoing camp activities as needed 

Qualifications:

  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Previously CPR/First Aid Certified for 2+ years 
  • Previous experience working with children 
  • Must possess excellent communication skills 
  • Camp Leadership experience (Connecticut licensed camp preferred) 
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking/presenting to small groups 
  • Must have a willingness to perform all job duties with enthusiasm and a positive outlook

Position:   Summer Program Coordinator

Job Description:
Do you love working with kids and farm animals? Are you naturally curious with a love for learning and teaching? Ambler Farm Summer Camp is a unique farm that offers kids a chance to connect with the land, the animals, and each other while experiencing the outdoors. We are seeking a part-time Summer Program Coordinator to support our Director of Programming in leading kids of all ages in Farm-based activities through our summer camp and apprentice programs.

  • Part-time; Monday-Friday 8:15 a.m.-2 p.m.; Monday/Tuesday/Thursday 3:45-6:15 p.m.; and Saturdays 8:45-11:15 a.m.
  • May 17-August 16 (possible extension into the fall)
  • Pay will be based on experience. 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Work with the Director of Programming to execute educational programming, including our Summer Camp and Apprentice Program
    • Help prepare, facilitate, and organize programming 
    • Communicate with parents regarding schedule changes, and activities 
  • Assist with daily camp activities 
  • Manage sign-in process 
  • Communicate with program parents and farm staff on a regular basis 
  • Role model for participants and staff, arrive every day with an inclusive, professional, upbeat, and positive attitude 
  • Assist in farm activities with our teenage apprentices such as raking, weeding, cleaning, etc. 

Qualifications:

  • Be at least 21 years old
  • 2+ years of working with children 4-17 years old 
  • Willing to become CPR/First Aid certified 
  • Camp Leadership experience (Connecticut licensed camp preferred) 
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking/presenting to large and small groups 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills a must 
  • Comfortable working with farm animals 
  • Must have a willingness to perform all job duties with enthusiasm and a positive outlook
