Andrew Leslie Cooper

St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church organist and music director, Andrew Leslie Cooper, will present a recital of music by Bach, Howells, Price, Lefébure-Wély, Andrée, and more. On staff at St. Matthew’s since 2021, Cooper is a British-American conductor, organist, countertenor, and music educator who has been active in the professional music spheres on both sides of the Atlantic.
During the COVID lockdowns, Cooper attracted attention online following his virtual, multitrack productions of Pearsall’s Lay a garland, Purcell’s Sound the trumpet, and Tallis’ 40-voice masterpiece, Spem in alium. These videos, which are found on his website, were also featured on BBC News.
This event is part of The Arts at St. Matthew’s 2023–24 season and is ticketed at $30 per person, $10 for students. To purchase tickets or subscriptions for the other concerts in the 2023–24 series, visit the St. Matthew’s website.
All attendees are welcome to stay for a reception afterwards in the Lounge, where light refreshments will be served.
