Join Wilton Library on Tuesday, June 4, at 7 p.m. for an Author Talk with Anna Francese Gass. She discusses her new cookbook, Italian Snacking: Sweet and Savory Recipes for Every Hour of the Day.

Chef, author and culinary influencer, Gass invites food lovers and home cooks on a delectable journey through the heart of Italy. Explore the rich tapestry of flavors that define Italian snacking culture. “Gass shows her deep appreciation for and knowledge of Italian cuisine in this deftly written guide to small bites that pack a powerful flavor punch.” –Library Journal

Combining simplicity and creativity at its best, Italian cuisine charms the soul. Achieved through a combination of high-quality ingredients, simple recipes tied to each region’s specialties, and the dining table experience.

In her second cookbook, Gass introduces her American audience to the complete range of spuntini. She highlights these smaller bites enjoyed at in-between moments of the day with recipes drawn from across the country. Also included is a chapter of delicacies from Italy’s robust street food culture. Gass incorporates gorgeous finished dish photography and imagery. This includes Italian food markets, cafes, bars, and pasticcerie that help the book spotlight the Italian snacking ideal.

Born in Italy and raised in the U.S., Italian cuisine is part of Gass’s soul. A French Culinary Institute graduate, she began her career in the test kitchen at Food52. Her first cookbook, Heirloom Kitchen: Heritage Recipes and Family Stories from the Tables of Immigrant Women, holds cherished family recipes from around the world, published in 2021. It was then featured on Today and Rachel Ray.

Chiefly known for her ingenious takes on traditional Italian dishes, millions view her Instagram videos at @annafgass. She also appears regularly on Good Morning America and Access Hollywood, and her recipes are top-rated on New York Times Cooking.

Elm Street Books will sell copies and Gass will sign books after her talk. A portion of the proceeds goes to Wilton Library.
