Author Talk with Lisa Barr: The Goddess of Warsaw

Join Wilton Library on Monday, June 10 at 7 p.m. for an Author Talk with Lisa Barr about her new historical saga The Goddess of Warsaw. In a riveting tale spanning six decades, readers explore Warsaw to Hollywood following a legendary screen actress with a dark secret about her Warsaw Ghetto experience. It’s an enthralling story of deception, lust, revenge, betrayal, and sacrifice.
Barr draws from extensive research, family history and inspiration as a Holocaust survivor’s daughter, a desire to tell stories about fierce women, and a fascination with the arts’ role in wartime society. She delivers a brilliant page-turner of one of history’s most heroic uprisings and an actress whose personal war never ends. The Goddess of Warsaw is best described as historically important, narratively gripping, and eternally relevant.
“Utterly gripping, The Goddess of Warsaw is a transformative and immersive story so powerful and captivating that I could not put it down. Truly one of the best books I’ve read.” – Liv Constantine, bestselling author of The Last Mrs. Parrish.
Barr is The New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of three historical thrillers, including 2022’s Woman on Fire. Selected for numerous book clubs; garnering stellar praise including a starred Publishers Weekly review; and published in nearly 10 languages, Sharon Stone is also set to produce and star in the novel’s adaptation. In addition, Barr has served as The Jerusalem Post‘s editor, Today’s Chicago Woman’s managing editor, and Moment magazine’s managing editor among others. She is featured on Good Morning America and Today for her work as an author, journalist, and blogger.
