Birding Allen’s Meadow and its Community Gardens with Joe Bear

October 12, 2022 @ 8:00 am - 10:00 am
Free

Fall migration is underway with millions of birds taking to the skies having left their North American breeding grounds and heading south to their wintering grounds, in some cases as far south as the Pampas grasslands in Argentina. Allen’s Meadow is a well-known birding “hot spot” within the state and beyond due to its confluence of habitats including open fields, woods, edges, wetlands, and especially its Community Gardens, which offer a buffet of food to hungry migrants.

Come join Wilton resident and expert birder Joe Bear to look for warblers, vireos, tanagers, orioles, an assortment of sparrows, and several species of raptors occupying the skies. Bring binoculars and meet at the north end of the parking lot near the Field 6 sign. This is a Norwalk River Watershed Association-sponsored event.

There are four separate events, register online for any of the walks.
