Birding Walk Through Allen’s Meadow

Wilton resident, gardener, and birding expert Joe Bear will be leading a second spring birding walk this Thursday, May 20, at 8:30 am at Allen’s Meadow. Spring migration is in full swing with migrants from as far south as South America arriving in our state to either breed or continue on to breeding grounds north of us. Join Joe in a Norwalk River Watershed Association and Pollinator Pathway-sponsored event as we spend a leisurely two-hour walk through the diverse habitats this birding hot spot has to offer – Pollinator Pathway patches, open field, woodlands, edges, pond, and swamp. Recent sightings have included 17 warbler species, Baltimore Orioles, Scarlet Tanagers, Rose-breasted Grosbeaks, Wood Thrush, Swallows, and a singing male Bobolink.
Meet at the far end of the gravel parking area near the Field 6 sign.
