Feed Wilton: Kiwanis Food Pantry Gift Card Drive

The Kiwanis Club of Wilton is adapting its quarterly food drive that supports the Wilton Food Pantry, to make sure COVID-19 doesn’t interfere with the club’s efforts. Instead of asking for actual food items, members will be in front of Village Market this weekend (Friday-Sunday, June 26-28) asking shoppers to consider donating gift cards that can be purchased in-store at the cash register.

Customers can then deposit them upon leaving the store in a special box provided by a designated member of the Kiwanis Club. This process aligns with pandemic social distancing, and subsequent distribution is simplified.

Kiwanis members will be in front of the Village Market between the hours of 11 a.m.-5 p.m., under the banner of Feed Wilton; in response to COVID-19 physical contact will be minimized, and the focus will be on gift card donations to serve those who are food insecure within our community. Kiwanis will match the first $3,000 of the proceeds.
