Fire by Friction Workshop at Woodcock Nature Center

Explore the history of fire with naturalist Thomas Rhodes! During this two-hour workshop, participants will learn how to make a bow drill, including which materials work best. We will then use these bow drills to start a coal and contribute to the camp fire. Materials will be provided but feel free to bring along a carving knife if you have one. Thomas is a certified Cybertracker with a passion for connecting people to nature.
This program will take place outdoors. Please dress for the weather. Age: 16+ recommended, anyone younger must be accompanied by an adult.
