Introduction to Modern Square Dancing
August 17 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm

Come join Wilton Library for a free square dance lesson. After a brief introduction and demonstration, participants will have the opportunity to get up on the dance floor and join a square. With experienced dancers as the guides, everyone will learn several basic dance steps and be dancing (and smiling) within the first five minutes. The group dances to R&B, Broadway show tunes, Disney, Rock & Roll, old standards, and other contemporary music. Come have some fun, and enjoy this healthy, easy-to-learn, social activity enjoyed by millions around the globe.
No experience is necessary. Singles and couples are welcome, and all ages — teens and up — can participate. Two left feet? No worries! Square dancing is simply walking to music. Anyone can do it!
Square Bears is a non-profit Square Dance Club based in Wilton and founded by Ron Baldwin, who is the Square Bears club caller. He is a frequent guest caller at square dance clubs throughout New England. Registration is suggested on the Wilton Library website. Walk-ins are also welcome.
