Metro Art Studios Exhibition & Reception at Wilton Library

Thirteen area artists from Metro Art Studios will be showcased in Wilton Library’s October-November art exhibition. Metro Art Studios is a vibrant and thriving community of artists with studios located in the historic Crown Corset factory building on Railroad Ave. in the South End of Bridgeport.

The artists are Patrice Barrett (printmaker and mixed media artist, Easton); Lucienne Buckner (sculptor, Fairfield); Carlos Davila (painter, Bridgeport); Jane Davila (printmaker and fiber artist, Bridgeport); Douglas Hartman (painter, Bridgeport); Jessica Hernandez (printmaker, Bridgeport); Lisa Hirten (painter, Bridgeport); Elizabeth Katz (painter, Easton); Kristin Merrill (jeweler and sculptor, Easton); Jill Morton (painter, Norwalk); Susan Taylor Murray (mixed media artist, Fairfield); Daniel Recinos (photographer, Westport); and Denise Susalka (painter, Redding). Their work represents a wide variety of styles, media, and subject matter.

The Metro Art Studios exhibition opens on Friday, Oct. 7 with a reception from 6-7:30 p.m. The reception is free and open to the public. The exhibition runs through Nov. 12. A majority of the works will be available for purchase with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the library.
