Music on the Hill Presents: The Golden Harp & Other works

Music on the Hill is pleased to present the 19th annual Summer Chorus with the Laurel String Quartet, performing “The Golden Harp” by Gwyneth Walker, “The Sun Never Says” by Dan Forrest, and “Sacred Heart (Ubi Caritas III)” by Ola Gjeilo.

The Summer Chorus is a 40-voice chorus comprised of singers from around the region.

“The Golden Harp,” by CT composer Gwyneth Walker, is a joyful and uplifting work for chorus and string quartet, with soprano and baritone solos.

The work features text by Rabindranath Tagore, from the poet’s collection “Gitanjali.” In 1913, Tagore won the Nobel Prize in literature for the English translation of the collection, the first non-European to win such an honor.

Please join us Thursday, July 28 at 8 p.m. for this beautiful and uplifting music at the Little Theater at Wilton High School. The suggested donation is $20, and masks are requested for audience members.
