Of Violence and Valor: Four Lectures on “The Iliad” with Mark Schenker

Yale’s Mark Schenker returns to Wilton Library with a 4-part virtual lecture series on Homer’s epic poem, “The Iliad” on March 3, 10, 17 & 31. He will concentrate on the poem as a literary work of art and will consider also how it contrasts and harmonizes with The Odyssey as a masterpiece that engages both the destructive force of rage and the enduring power of civilization. No charge for the program.
