Parenting in Partnership: Blending Perspectives and Perceptions for More Strategic Parenting

February 11, 2025 @ 10:30 am - 12:30 pm
Free

Being the parent of a child with special needs is often a confusing, frustrating and deflating experience. The different experiences each parent has with their children can contribute to quite different perspectives on how best to guide them.

It’s a struggle to parent from the same page when we sometimes question if we’re even in the same book. School psychologist David P. Sylvestro, MA, CSP, will discuss how parents can work to better sync their parenting philosophies and policies to be on the same page. Topics include enhancing parents’ knowledge base related to their child’s overall profile, practicing the language of effective conflict resolution and expanding their affective vocabulary — the language of emotions.

This free event is an in-person presentation. Register online.

Presented by SPED*NET in partnership with Wilton Public Schools, Wilton Library and Newtown Sped PTA.
