Parenting Kids in a Digital World: Pre-School and Elementary Years

Wilton Youth Council is thrilled to welcome back Diana Graber, author and recognized expert on technology’s impact on human behavior, for an age-based, instructive and enlightening webinar on parenting in a digital world on Tuesday, Feb. 7 at 10 a.m.

Parents of pre-K-fifth grade students will be given an overview of the latest technology and apps and current CIPA and COPPA laws, and discuss why 13 is the legal age for use. Parents will learn more about managing screen time and establishing a digital routine that encourages openness. Tools for modeling (no phone zones, screen time balance, consent before posting) and working as a family to establish a healthy digital life.

Graber is the author of Raising Humans in a Digital World: Helping Kids Build a Healthy Relationship with Technology. She is the founder CyberWise.org and CyberCivics.com, two organizations dedicated to helping adults and students learn digital citizenship and literacy skills.
