Public Open Studio at Weir Farm National Historical Park

Join the Friends of Weir Farm National Historical Park for an Open Studio with June Artist-in-Residence (AIR) Stephen Henderson on Saturday, June 22, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. in the AIR Studio, next to the visitor parking lot at 735 Nod Hill Rd. Wilton. Meet the artist, and view and discuss his artwork. It’s informal, fun and artsy!
Henderson works with mixed media in collages, watercolors, oils, and acrylics. His work has grown out of a long-standing interest in archaeology, art history, and the study of cultures and religions from around the world.
“I work in the plein air format, but I add natural materials in the process. Sand, dirt, dried flowers, homemade ink, and other materials are included. As a result, my work is abstract in nature but refers to the landscape in which I paint,” Henderson said.
Registration is not required for this free event, which will be held rain or shine. Light refreshments will be served by the Friends of Weir Farm.
While visiting the park, enjoy “Take Part in Art” — borrow art supplies and create a watercolor. Step back in history and tour the wildly artistic Weir House and artists’ studios. Or take a short hike to the Weir Pond.
