Wilton Family Y to Celebrate 50 Years with Event to Honor Distinguished Citizens

Since 1972, the Wilton Family Y has served the communities of Wilton, Redding, Norwalk, and beyond.

A 50th-year anniversary celebration will be held on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2022, at Rolling Hills Country Club. The cocktail reception, sponsored by ASML will be highlighted by the presentation of the Distinguished Citizen Awards. A tradition that began in 1986, more than 85 individuals, businesses, and organizations have received this honor. This year’s recipients, Nick Lee and Jeff Turner personify the qualities of a volunteer who has made a meaningful and sustaining impact on the community.

“Both Nick and Jeff have selflessly served our community for multiple decades impacting the lives of young people, families, and seniors resulting in improving the overall quality of life for all,” Riverbrook Regional YMCA CEO Bob McDowell said. “They each exemplify the core values of honesty, caring, respect and responsibility, which sets an example for us all when it comes to Distinguished Service. Our YMCA is proud to honor them with this year’s Awards.”
