Wilton High School “Socks for Soldiers” Collection

With the holidays fast approaching, the Wilton High School effort, “Socks for Soldiers” has begun running its next collection for new white tube socks, non-perishable food items, gloves, scarves, mittens, “warm fuzzy socks,”and hygiene items for USA soldiers and veterans. This drive started Nov. 25, and will end on Monday, Dec. 16. Continued donations of these items for current and former servicemen and women are greatly appreciated.
Donation boxes are set up outside the WHS Main Office on the second floor lobby and outside Dann Pompa’s door in the School Counseling wing.
Socks for Soldiers recently delivered–via mail and in person–items collected this year during the Veterans Day Drive. Since its start in December 2008, this student-led effort has provided American soldiers and veterans with over 13,500 pairs of socks. It has supported Homes for the Brave in Bridgeport and connected with Bill Madaras to support the soldiers connected to Kick for Nick as well as veterans serviced by the Provisions for Patriots program in Indiana.
