Wilton Library: Inflation, Taxes and the Effect on Your Retirement
November 10, 2021 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Please join the Wilton Library for an educational workshop that may help you in these volatile times. Veteran financial advisor Michael Alimo from USA Financial and Tax Services returns to Wilton Library to discuss how inflation and taxes may affect your retirement.
Given the low level of inflation, is it still an issue for retirement savers and those using their savings to finance retirement expenses? Due to the low inflationary & interest rate environment, investors have found it next to impossible to receive an acceptable rate of return to keep pace with inflation in traditional CD’s & Money Market accounts. This erodes the “purchasing value” of your money for everyday needs. The question for retirement savers is how to mitigate the impact of inflation. The answer lies in creating a diversified portfolio that includes equity investments.
Taxes have been a concern for many Americans for decades now. With rising deficits on the federal, state, and municipality level, where does that leave the taxpayer? As they head towards retirement most Americans have squirreled away a fair amount of assets “tax-deferred”. What are these assets truly worth when needed? Currently, tax law changes are being discussed and changes may be coming. Get prepared.
