Wilton Library: Spring Poetry with Judson Scruton – The Deep Power of Joy: Seeing into the Life of Things – 12 Poems (In-Person)
April 28 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 10:30 am on Thursday, repeating until April 28, 2022
Please join us in the Brubeck Room for a 4-week literature seminar led by Judson Scruton, who will take us through a dozen poems on the theme of the Power of Joy. The seminars will occur every Thursday from Apr. 7 to Apr. 28 from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m.
In these fraught times, finding joy – often in the most mundane or difficult situations – is a marvelous discovery. Yale professor and poet Christian Wiman shares his discoveries in a remarkable anthology Joy: 100 Poems. We will discuss a selection of these poems. Come join us for lively and, we hope, joyful discussions.
Advance registration is required. By registering for the first session you will automatically be registered for all four sessions. This lecture series is made possible with the support of the Literary Series in Memory of Amy Quigley. To register, visit the Wilton Library website.
