Wilton Library: What’s “Modern” About the Modern British Novel?

An event every week that begins at 5:00 pm on Thursday, repeating until October 28, 2021

Please join the Wilton Library as Mark J. Schenker of Yale College returns to give four lectures on the great English fiction of the modern age. He will consider the legacy of the Victorian Age and the transformations wrought by WWI, among other themes.

The novels for each week:

Thursday, Oct. 7, 5 to 6 p.m. – The Secret Agent by Joseph Conrad
Thursday, Oct. 14, 5 to 6 p.m.- Howards End by E. M. Forster
Thursday, Oct. 21, 5 to 6 p.m.- Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
Thursday, Oct. 28, 5 to 6 p.m. Brighton Rock Graham Greene

Online registration is required. You will automatically be registered for all four sessions in the series. Please note that this will be an in-person event with a live-streaming component.
