Wilton Reads — Submissions Deadline: “My Wilton” TeenZine

My Wilton TeenZine
Presented by the Wilton Library Teen Department and Teen Library Council
Open for submissions March 1-April 22

We are looking for writing and art from Wilton teens in Grades 6-12 that answers one or more of the following questions:

What does Wilton mean to you?
What’s your favorite thing, place, or person in Wilton?
What do you think is the future of Wilton?
What do new residents of Wilton need to know?
Anything else relating to Wilton’s past, present, or future?

We’re especially interested in hearing from new residents or teens with a unique perspective.

Acceptable submissions include:

• Poetry
• Short essays, stories, or other prose between 200-700 words
• Artwork such as collages, photography, paintings, and drawings that are able to be reproduced in .jpg format — submitted artwork may also be used as the cover of the zine. If you’d like to submit artwork specifically to be considered for the cover, please do!

Submissions will be considered by teen library staff and teen volunteers in the Teen Library Council. Students whose submissions are accepted for publication will receive a token of appreciation for their contribution (to be announced) along with copies of the zine to share with your friends and family.

To submit, send your writing as a .doc file or artwork as a .jpg file via email. In your email, please also let us know:

• Your name
• Your grade and what school you attend
• If you would like to be published under a pen name, your pen name.

You will hear back from us before May 1, 2022, with our decision. We hope to have the zine published sometime in May 2022.
