Wilton’s budget-setting process for FY 2027 is officially underway, with the Wilton Public Schools Superintendent‘s budget proposal launching things last week.

Wilton Board of Finance has released its calendar for the FY’27 Budget Cycle — it’s a great thing to keep on hand if you want to stay up on the process and closely follow how Wilton sets its taxes for next year.

GOOD To Do GOOD: Two Wilton Opportunities to Donate Blood

There’s not just one opportunity but two to start the year off on a GOOD foot by helping others and donating blood. The first is Ambler Farm’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Blood Drive, on Monday, Jan. 19 from 1-6 p.m.

If that doesn’t work out, you can donate at the Wilton Library’s American Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, Jan. 20 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. Walk-ins will be accommodated but it’s better to register on the Red Cross website in advance for both events — visit the links to the events to sign up. GOOD To Know: Positive ID is required at the time of donation.


GOOD To Know: Health Department has Finished Free Radon Kit Program

After last week’s announcement that it was distributing free radon test kits to anyone who wanted one, the Wilton Health Department said that it reached the maximum number of test kits available, but if additional test kits become available, officials will notify the public.


GOOD To Cheer: WHS Ski Teams Shine at Class S Opener, Girls Take First at Mt. Southington

The Wilton High School ski teams opened their season with a standout performance Thursday at Mt. Southington, highlighted by a first-place finish from the girls varsity squad and strong depth across both varsity and JV races.

The girls varsity team finished ahead of Greenwich Academy and New Canaan, and the boys varsity team placed second overall behind Weston, with Cheshire finishing third. Wilton’s strength extended beyond varsity, as both the boys and girls JV teams earned first-place finishes.

Out of 138 racers, Wilton’s girls were paced by Olivia Edwards (10th) with a combined time of 49.80. She was followed closely by Lyla Theoharides (18th; 51.58), Lila Richardson (19th; 52.51), and Siena Buchichio (20th; 52.97). Completing Wilton’s top-10 finishers were Charlotte DiNapoli (23rd; 53.74), Parker Pettibone (25th; 53.79), Magnolia Levy (28th; 54.37), Charlotte Cates (44th; 58.14), Georgia DiNapoli (58th; 60.97), and Natalie Craig (64th; 62.15).

On the boys side, Wilton was led by Cooper Buchichio, who claimed first place overall atop a field of 124 racers, with a combined two-run time of 47.76 seconds. He was followed by Vincent Kelly, who finished ninth (52.97). Rounding out Wilton’s top-10 finishers were Ray Slough (11th; 53.32), Theo Satrazemis (12th; 53.71), Kieran Wiseman (21st; 55.24), Benjamin Behar (28th; 56.22), Sean Raftery (33rd; 57.34), Matthew Polito (35th; 57.58), Matt Morano (39th; 58.73), and Leighton Graves (45th; 60.20).
