GOOD Read: Wilton Library Launches New Book Discussion Group — “Third Thursday Book Club”

Wilton Library is introducing a new book discussion group, the Third Thursday Book Club. Join fellow readers for lively book discussions on the third Thursday of each month at the library. The series will feature books from a wide variety of genres.
To kick off, the first Third Thursday Book Club discussion will take place on Thursday, April 16 from 6:30-8 p.m. in the library’s Rimer Room. The first selection is The Emperor of Gladness by Ocean Vuong. An Oprah’s Book Club pick and named a best book of 2025 by The New Yorker and NPR, The Emperor of Gladness is “a bighearted novel about chosen family, unexpected friendship, and the stories we tell ourselves in order to survive.” The novel takes place in the fictional town of East Gladness, CT.
Registration is recommended. To register and see a listing of meetings and titles, visit the Third Thursday Book Club webpage. For more information, email Cheryl Morgenstern or call 203.762.6348.
GOOD Inclusion: “Adopt-a-Shop” to Return for Fourth Year from Wilton Pride & Chamber of Commerce

Wilton Pride and the Wilton Chamber of Commerce will bring back the Adopt-A-Shop program this spring, pairing local businesses with community groups to create Pride-themed storefront displays in the town center. Now in its fourth year, the initiative is designed to foster a welcoming atmosphere while also drawing visitors to downtown businesses.
Participants — including local organizations, families and civic groups — “adopt” a storefront and decorate it, with guidance from Wilton Pride and the Chamber. Participation spots are available open, although storefront pairings are limited; businesses and residents can email Wilton Pride to get involved.
“The Adopt-A-Shop program is a vivid, town-wide declaration of belonging,” Heidi Tsapelas of Wilton Pride said. “We send a powerful message to our LGBTQIA+ neighbors — especially our youth — that Wilton is a place where they are seen, celebrated, and safe.”
Chamber Executive Director Camille Carriero said the program benefits both the community and local businesses. “This initiative continues to be a vital channel for connecting our member businesses with the community… we not only celebrate all members of our town, but also create a vibrant, engaging environment that supports our local economy and residents alike.”
GOOD Tax Credit Opportunity: 2026 CT Neighborhood Assistance Act Tax Credit Program Now Accepting Applications

Applications for the 2026 Connecticut Neighborhood Assistance Act (NAA) Tax Credit Program are now available through the CT-Department of Revenue Services, offering a potential funding source for Wilton municipal departments and tax-exempt organizations. The program provides corporate tax credits to businesses that make cash contributions to approved local projects.
Town officials will oversee and coordinate applications and project submissions. Any funding seekers must complete the NAA form and submit applications via email to Wilton Community Outreach Coordinator Hadley Boyd by May 22. Project proposals will be reviewed and voted on by the Board of Selectmen at its Jun. 1 meeting, with approved projects forwarded to the state by the Jul. 1, 2026 deadline.
Nonprofits, municipal departments and interested businesses can find program details on the NAA and DRS websites. Questions can be emailed to the state or to Boyd, or call 203.563.0129, ext. 1146.
