GOOD To Put on the Calendar: Wilton Schedules Annual Town Meeting and Vote

Wilton’s Board of Selectmen have approved dates for the 2026 Annual Town Meeting and Adjourned Vote for the town to discuss and vote on the proposed budget for Fiscal Year 2027. The Annual Town Meeting will occur on Tuesday, May 5, and the Adjourned (continued) Voting is scheduled for Saturday, May 9.

Get the dates on your calendars and plan on attending — it’s all about setting taxes for FY 2027 and having a say in what you’ll pay is a great way to get involved in the town.

GOOD To Stay Warm: Wilton Opens Warming Centers

With Wilton’s weather outlook due to be frigid through the weekend into next week, Wilton Emergency Management Director Jim Blanchfield has opened warming centers that will be available at least through next Tuesday, Jan. 27. Other than Thursday, Jan. 22, every day will see below-freezing temperatures for most of the day.

  • Comstock Community Center (180 School Rd.): Monday-Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Wilton YMCA (404 Danbury Rd.): Monday-Friday, 5:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.; Sunday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Wilton Library (137 Ridgefield Rd.): Monday-Thursday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday, 10 a.m. to5 p.m.; Saturday, 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

GOOD To Be Alert: Wilton Police Issue Warning on Home Invasions

The Wilton Police Department has put out a warning about home invasions. Police officials said that across the region and nationwide, police departments are seeing a rise in home invasions involving suspects posing as delivery drivers. In several recent cases, residents opened their doors expecting a package only to be confronted by offenders attempting forced entry and robbery.

They caution:

  • Do not open the door for unexpected deliveries
  • Use doorbells, windows, or cameras to verify before answering
  • Know that legitimate delivery drivers will not demand entry to your home
  • Stay alert and trust your instincts
  • Report suspicious delivery-related activity to 911 or the local police department

GOOD To Volunteer: Wilton Playshop Needs Volunteers

Wilton Playshop announced on social media that the organization is seeking volunteers. Anyone interested can learn more on the Playshop’s website. Areas where help is needed include

  • Box office and Hospitality
  • Costuming
  • Set building and painting
  • Lighting tech and sound tech
  • Publicity
  • Facilities Maintenance
  • Fundraising
