The committee that oversees the Hurlbutt Street Schoolhouse has decided to open its doors to the public this Sunday afternoon from 1-4 p.m. “We’re ‘piggybacking’ on Ambler Farm Day,” laughed Linda Schmidt, one of the committee members, “but they’re being very gracious about it.”

Visitors will see what the one-room schoolhouse looked like when it was operational as the committee has maintained it to look and feel just as it did more than 100 years ago. The committee also helps run a program to bring Wilton and Weston second graders on field trips to the school to experience what school there was like long ago.
