GOOD Celebrations: Lunar New Year Celebration at the Wilton Y

The Wilton Family YMCA invites the community to come together for a special community celebration event honoring the Year of the Horse on Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 12:30-2 p.m. in the Y lobby. The event is free and open to the public, and is to promote connection, conversation and celebrating the Wilton community.
As a welcoming and inclusive gathering place, the Wilton Y is proud to celebrate traditions that bring people together and strengthen community connections. The Year of the Horse represents energy, positivity, and personal growth — values that reflect the Y’s commitment to supporting individuals and families in a friendly, encouraging environment.
The celebration will feature complimentary dumplings and an opportunity for community members to connect with Y staff and enjoy time with friends and neighbors.
GOOD Support: Wilton Police Show Support for Teen Dating Violence Awareness
Wilton Police are representing today, Feb. 10, in support of Teen Dating Violence Awareness. The department’s officers are sporting orange ribbons to shine a light on healthy relationships and reminds teens that abuse, emotional, physical or digital is never okay. GOOD Sports: Wins Over Ridgefield and Norwalk Put Wilton Boys Swim & Dive Season at 6-1

On Friday, Jan. 23, the Wilton Boys swim and dive team hosted a strong Ridgefield team at the Wilton YMCA pool. After battling to an 85-85 tie at the completion of the swimming events, junior Spencer Smith won the diving competition to secure a 91-85 win for Wilton moving the Warriors to 5-0 on the season.
Wilton hosted the 2025 Class L State Champion Greenwich High School team at its Wilton Y home pool on Wednesday, Feb. 4, and, despite winning 8 of 12 events, suffered the first loss of the season by a score of 101-84. In addition to freshman Henry Gimby winning the 500 freestyle, Wilton was once again led by strong swims from its seniors, including wins by Lucas Fontana (200 individual medley and 100 butterfly), Andrew Mims (200 freestyle), Ozzy Andrews (100 backstroke) and Sam Jacobson (100 breaststroke). Andrews, Jacobson and Fontana teamed up with senior Hirsh Iyer to win the 200 medley relay and the quartet of Mims, Iyer, Fontana and Andrews won a very close 400 freestyle relay to close the meet. Wilton dropped to 5-1 on the season.
On Friday, Feb. 6, Wilton hosted Norwalk at the Wilton Y pool and swam to a 103-72 win to move to 6-1 on the season. The Warriors were led by double winner Mims (50 freestyle and 100 breaststroke) and individual winners Greg Pinchbeck (200 individual medley), Kurt Jeschke (100 freestyle), Jacobson (500 freestyle) and Fontana (100 backstroke).
