At the Aug. 18 regular meeting of the Board of Selectmen, the town officials appointed Keith Rodgerson to the Wilton Economic Development Commission.

“Tonight we interviewed an extremely qualified individual. Keith Rodgerson has probably one of the best resumes for being on the Economic Development Commission, so it’s a pleasure to recommend he be appointed to the EDC,” first selectman Bill Brennan said at the meeting.

Rodgerson’s appointment was approved unanimously by the four selectmen present at the meeting.

In a press release Rodgerson sent to GOOD Morning Wilton about the appointment, he wrote that he “is the executive director of the Neighborhood District Economic Development Corporation, an economic development think tank and business assistance organization headquartered in Wilton. Certified by the National Development Council as an economic development finance professional, he has worked over the last decade on key Connecticut-based historic preservation and neighborhood revitalization projects, working with the state Department of Economic Development (DECD), HUD, local governments, business groups, and private and not-for-profit developers. Mr. Rodgerson is a former two-term member of the Bridgeport City Council and graduate of Harvard University.”

Rodgerson is also the democratic candidate running for State Representative for the 143rd State House Assembly District.
