Why should I become a member?

No one else covers Wilton like we do. GOOD Morning Wilton makes sure you can stay engaged in the issues that matter to you and get the news as it happens. As the only news source with reporters who live here, have kids in Wilton schools and are part of the community, we have the insider’s perspective. But to continue bringing you this level of coverage, and to grow, takes resources.

By becoming a GMW member your contribution will help make sure Wilton’s only locally owned, independent news organization can continue to provide you with unparalleled information, access and community connection.

What are the membership options?

Our membership program allows for support at several levels. Those options are listed above on this page.

Does membership mean subscription?

We believe news is something everyone should have unfettered access to–and membership helps make sure we can continue to provide quality reporting about Wilton to everyone.. GMW is NOT going subscription-only or putting articles behind a paywall. But members will get exclusive access to member-only features and events, and the knowledge that they’re helping to keep GMW a vital part of life in Wilton.

If GMW has advertising, why do you also need revenue from membership?

We’re thrilled that we can provide a viable way for local businesses and organizations to reach a large–and growing–audience. But in a tight business economy, local businesses–including GMW–need to look to all sources. Ad revenue alone doesn’t cover the costs of what is needed to keep bringing you coverage that makes an impact, or growing what we can offer readers.

How will the money be used?

Your contribution will help us:

• Hire more reporters and cover more news
• Launch new programs including more live streams and multimedia events
• Support Wilton’s non-profit and civic organizations
• Improve our website and give you the best online experience

How do I get a receipt for my membership contribution?

When you sign up for membership, our system will send a receipt to the email address you provide.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

GMW is not a non-profit, so contributions are not tax-deductible.

Will contributors have input to editorial coverage?

GMW is an independent news organization. Like advertisers, members will have no input or involvement in editorial content or coverage. The only influence members have is enabling GMW to continue pursuing quality news reporting and offering an important resource to the community.
