Wilton has a chance to take a step back to the past, enjoy great food and drink, and support the local community. On Saturday, Mar. 1, from 6-9 p.m., guests are invited to explore the Wilton Historical Society’s beautiful and unique historic spaces as they eat and drink their way through different eras of history.
For this fundraising event, the Society has partnered with Marcia Selden Catering of Stamford to create a well-researched and historically inspired menu that will immerse guests in nearly three centuries of Wilton. Attendees are encouraged to embrace this unparalleled historical setting with historical costumes and dress. The Society’s charming and storied buildings — the c. 1770 Sloan-Raymond-Fitch House, the c. 1740 Betts-Sturges-Blackmar House, and the c. 1840 Burt Barn Gallery — will be decorated for the occasion.
This event was planned through the hard work and dedication of the Society’s Development and Party Planning Committees, consisting of committee members Sabeth Albert, Steve Cafiero, Greg Chann, Ellen Essman, Mary Anne Mendola Franco, Dottie Jankowski, Farah Masani, Nancy Perez, Mike Safko, Sara Sclafani, Katy Williams, Abbey Dillon, Jenna Garecht and Nick Foster.
“The inaugural Taste in Time last year was a great event, so we are thrilled to bring it back this year,” Historical Society Board of Trustees President Nancy Perez said. “It’s the perfect opportunity to celebrate history in a unique space, and to support a community organization. All proceeds go directly towards our mission to preserve Wilton’s history, and to connect, engage and educate all who would look to the past to shape the future.”
This event is generously supported by Ellen M. Essman CPA, Gregory And Adams, P.C., Fairfield County Bank, Wilson Properties, LLC, Marcia Selden Catering, Karen C. O’Brien State Farm, and Orem’s Diner.
GOOD Morning Wilton is the media sponsor for Taste in Time.
The event will be held at the Society’s Museum Complex (224 Danbury Rd.). Tickets are on sale now, and can be purchased by visiting the Wilton Historical online or by calling 203.762.7257.
