There’s soon to be another healthy restaurant option in Wilton Center, if the proposed eatery clears all town zoning approvals. Natural Kitchen, which features fresh ingredients in its featured items such as poke bowls, sushi rolls, bubble tea, smoothies and more is planning to open a location in the Wilton River Park shopping center at 5 River Rd. by the end of the year.
The owners of Natural Kitchen — who have other locations in Milford, Waterbury and Trumbull, with another spot in Stamford holding its grand opening today and a Norwalk site planned for 2026 — said that Wilton stood out as being a good fit for what Natural Kitchen has to offer.
“Wilton is a vibrant, healthy-conscious community and people here value fresh, quality food and an active lifestyle. It’s a perfect fit for Natural Kitchen,” Crystal Lin said. “We are excited to become part of the community and provide a place where everyone can enjoy nutritious food that’s also delicious.”
Lin said the heart of the menu will remain consistent with the other locations, but the owners do like to add some seasonal specials that feel connected to the local community.
“Customers love that Natural Kitchen is a place where healthy food doesn’t have to compromise on flavor, and a place that offers a variety of options for everyone’s lifestyle, whether you are stopping in for a quick smoothie or sitting down enjoying a customized bowl with friends,” Lin said.
Hours for the restaurant will be 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. seven days a week, according to the application.
The new restaurant will move into the former location of Happy Wok, and according to the application filed with the town’s Planning and Zoning Commission, will also expand into the space next door which earlier housed a GNC retail shop and later Great Clips, making it a total of 2,095 square feet.
The Natural Kitchen concept is a fast-food restaurant serving poke bowls, bubble tea, smoothies and ice cream, according to the application. While it will only offer takeout service, there will be nine tables and 18 chairs for people to enjoy the food in the restaurant.
The Village District Design Advisory Committee favorably reviewed Natural Kitchen’s proposed signage on Thursday, Sept. 4, with the next stop at the Planning and Zoning Commission to review the application to expand the restaurant.
