During this Thanksgiving season, the Riverbrook Regional/Wilton YMCA is asking the community to come together to support 150 families in need through the Norwalk Housing Authority. YMCA officials say support can make a meaningful difference in those families’ lives through two impactful ways:

  1. Sponsor a Meal: For just $75, donors can sponsor a complete Thanksgiving dinner for a family of four. Each generous donation will ensure that these families can enjoy a festive and nourishing meal during the holiday season.
  2. Donate a Frozen Thanksgiving Meal: Contribute a prepared frozen meal, including a turkey and traditional sides, ready for delivery. This option provides a convenient way to support families in need, ensuring they have a hearty meal to celebrate Thanksgiving. Meal donations can be brought to the Wilton Y (404 Danbury Rd.) by Nov. 17.

The YMCA is asking community members who can help to register for these donations online.

Additional Opportunity to Help in Wilton

The Wilton YMCA has come up with another way to support the local community, by donating non-perishable food items to the collection spot at the Wilton YMCA. All non-perishable food will be donated to the Wilton and Redding Food Pantries, helping to replenish their shelves during this critical time. Contributions can significantly alleviate food insecurity among local families.

As a token of appreciation for new Wilton Y members who drop off four non-perishable food items in November, the YMCA will waive all joiner fees.

Wilton YMCA Director of Membership Experience Molly Blosser said this initiative encourages community involvement in Norwalk, Redding and Wilton, while supporting those in need.

“Let’s come together to ensure that no family in our community goes without a holiday meal this season. Your donations will bring comfort and joy to many during this festive time,” Blosser said.

Thank you for reading this GOOD Morning Wilton article. I hope you find all our reporting helpful and an important part of keeping up on everything in Wilton. Since 2013, GMW has worked hard to bring you timely, independent news that's available to everyone at no cost. No other news source covers Wilton, and only Wilton, full-time. What makes this local public service possible is reader support. Paid memberships fund reporters who bring you next-day news and secure our resources for things like livestreams and getting news to you when it counts. But we can't do this without your support. For as little as $5 a month, a GOOD Morning Wilton membership can keep local, independent news going in Wilton. Please consider supporting us today. Thank you,

Heather Borden Herve, GMW Editor/Publisher
