The players on the Wilton Little League 12U District all-star softball team are hoping to make it to the championship game this Saturday, July 1, after last night’s 15-2 win against New Canaan, and one more game on Thursday.

Dakota Kelly has pitched all four games so far. A triple at last night’s game by Ally Van Heyst earned the team ice cream thanks to a bet made by one of player’s dads.

It’s a talented team, with girls who were selected from the two spring 12U softball teams:  joining Van Heyst and Kelly are  Avery Samai, Avery Schestag, Ella Noonan, Ella Christ, Caitlin Wallace, Brook Bohacs, Katherine Costanzo, Amelia Fleming, Riya Shah, Annabella Andre, and Elizabeth DeFeo.

They’re coached by John Kelly, Amanda Samai and Dirk Van Heyst.

So far, the team’s record is 3-1, with hope’s to improve when they take on Rowayton at Brien McMahon High School on Thursday, June 29 at 5:45 p.m.. The championship game will happen at Darien High School at noon on Saturday.
