Have a child with an IEP (individualized education program)? New to the topic of Special Education? Prepare for spring team meetings and learn about details of 504 plans and IEPs at a special presentation hosted by the Parent Advisory Board (PAB). “The ABCs of IEPs” will be held on Thursday, Jan. 26 from 10 a.m.-12 noon at the Wilton Library (2nd floor).
The speaker will be attorney Theresa De Francis, who is well-regarded within the field of special education. Her experience stretches back 30 years, and includes working as special advisor and consultant on special education law. She will discuss special services, PPTs and the IEP process.
Admission is free. Interested guests are asked to RSVP via email.
The Parent Advisory Board is comprised of parents of children receiving special services in Wilton; PTA Special Education representatives; administrators from Wilton’s schools and Wilton Special Services. The board’s mission is to improve communication, education and trust among parents of children with special needs and the Wilton Public School staff and administration. Through its website and programs, the PAB strives to help parents understand the special education process and communicate more effectively with their teachers and teams. They also work to improve the level of understanding of children with special needs and the services they receive within Wilton’s schools and community.
