The U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program started back in 1947, and since then Toys for Tots has collected and distributed over 512 million toys to more than 237 million children in need. Through community partnerships and networks, Toys for Tots collects new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distributes those toys as Christmas gifts to less fortunate children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

In 2015, more than 22,000 toys were distributed to charitable organizations and families in need throughout Northern and Western Fairfield County. This year, several Wilton businesses and organizations are once again participating as Toys for Tots drop off points. The Wilton community is asked to participate and help by donating new, unwrapped toys now through Dec. 15.

One opportunity will be the Wilton Police Department’s “Stuff a Cruiser” event on Saturday, Dec. 17.  Time and location are still TBD but GOOD Morning Wilton will update as soon as we know.
