The 26th annual Ambler Farm Day returns Sunday, Oct. 4, from 12-4 p.m., with fall activities, live music and food trucks — plus a change for visitors: This year’s event will be entirely cashless.
Held rain or shine at 257 Hurlbutt St., the annual fundraiser benefits Friends of Ambler Farm, the nonprofit organization that supports the farm.
Activities include all the favorites — apple slingshot, hay maze, hayrides, build-your-own scarecrow, Dunk-A-Local, face painting, pumpkin patch, pie-in-the-face and children’s crafts. Visitors can also meet the farm’s goats, sheep, rabbits and chickens, shop for fresh produce at the farm stand and purchase homemade baked goods at the Sweets and Treats tent.
Present Company will provide live music. Food vendors include Walter’s Hot Dogs, Brazilian BBQ Boys, Freddy’s Platos, Grumpy Dumpling, Maine-ly Seafood, Silver Sands Pizza and Skip’s Ice Cream Co.
Admission, Activity Tickets and Parking
Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for seniors and children ages 4-12, and free for children younger than four. Advance admission sales ended Sept. 29, but visitors can purchase admission when they arrive.
Activities require separate tickets, available at the ticket booth next to the hay maze. Organizers remind visitors that the event is cashless.
Parking opens at noon. Drivers should enter through the Ambler Farm soccer field parking entrance and follow signs and volunteers’ directions. Shuttle service will run from Cannondale Train Station when the farm field and soccer lot fill. Parking is prohibited along Hurlbutt St. and in surrounding neighborhoods.
Volunteers and Bakers Needed
Organizers are seeking volunteers to help run the event. Residents can sign up for a shift online or reach out via email.
The Sweets and Treats sale also needs donations of homemade baked goods. Bakers can sign up online or email co-chairs Melanie Yahner or Kate McInerney.
Donations can be dropped off at the White Carriage Barn on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., or Sunday, Oct. 4, from 10-10:30 a.m.
