The beginning of fall means back to school, a new sports season, color-changing leaves and the return of Wilton’s favorite fall celebration, Ambler Farm Day!

Ambler Farm will hold its signature event, the 17th Annual Ambler Farm Day, on Sunday, Oct. 1, from 12-4 p.m.. Families from Wilton and beyond are invited to enjoy the apple slingshot, visit with farm animals, make-your-own-scarecrow, hay rides, trebuchet (aka “punkin chucker”), children’s crafts, pumpkin patch, live music, delicious homemade apple pies and baked goods, and more!

The cost to enjoy the day is $20 per family (or car load) upon entrance to the event. Visit the Ambler Farm website for more information.

Ambler Farm Day Committee organizers are asking for used clothes donations for the Make-Your-Own-Scarecrow activity. This popular activity relies on the generosity of donations to make it such a success. Clothing donations can be dropped off at the bins outside the White Carriage Barn at Ambler Farm. Please note:  long sleeved shirts and pants only for the scarecrows.

Event organizers also need community members’ help to make sure it’s the best Ambler Farm Day ever. They are looking for general volunteers for the big day! Those interested in volunteering for Ambler Farm Day should contact Cathy Birch via email.

The Friends of Ambler Farm extend special thank yous to Ambler Farm Day sponsors–The Montessori School and GOOD Morning Wilton.
