Tis the season already, and the Friends of Ambler Farm have prepared plenty to help kick off the holiday season, starting with getting your Thanksgiving table set.
Fresh Produce for your Holiday Table
Families can plan Thanksgiving menus with a little help from Ambler Farm. Farmer Jonathan Kirschner is harvesting fresh, organic produce for holiday tables or seasonal cooking. Enrich traditional menus with arugula, sweet potato, winter squash, carrots, garlic, potatoes, cabbages, apples and more! Order early – quantities are limited. Orders, with quantities specified, must be placed by email by Friday evening, Nov. 20. Orders will be available for pickup on either Monday, Nov. 23 from 3-6 p.m. or on Tuesday, Nov. 24 between 10 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Farm.
Thanksgiving Day Trebuchet Fun and Wilton Social Service Food Drive
Add another family tradition for Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 26. Visit Ambler Farm at 12 p.m. for some fresh air and to watch the “Pumpkin Warrior” launch pumpkins down the field! Watch this beauty in action before heading home or to family or friends for the big turkey dinner. Visitors are asked to bring non-perishable food and other items for donation to Wilton Social Services. Personal care items are also always welcome — please check all food items for expiration dates.
2015 Holiday Greens Sale
Ambler Farm’s annual Greens Sale (Fraser and Balsam Trees, Wreaths and Roping) has become a Wilton tradition. Families are invited to the Farm to enjoy hot cocoa, cider and treats, meeting friends and leaving with freshly cut trees.
Pre-orders are being accepted online by Nov. 30 to get first pick. Or, families can come to the Greens Sale at the Farm on Saturdays, Dec. 5 and Dec. 12 from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.; and on Sundays, Dec. 6 and Dec. 13 from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.. Proceeds from the sale of the holiday greens support the Farm’s ongoing programs and the restoration of the historic Raymond-Ambler Farmhouse.
Ambler Farm is located at 257 Hurlbutt St..
