At their meeting last night, the Board of Selectmen officially scheduled this year’s Annual Town Meeting for Tuesday, May 2, 2017. It is during this meeting that the residents of Wilton will discuss and vote on adopting the budget for FY’18, as presented by the Board of Finance.
The Town Charter mandates that the Annual Town Meeting be held during the first week of May, and it has traditionally been held on the first Tuesday of that week.
Following the close of the meeting, eligible voters can begin voting that evening on whether or not they approve the budget as adopted. Adjourned voting will also take place on Saturday, May 6.
While the location of the Annual Town Meeting is not yet confirmed the BoS members discussed the likelihood of holding it at the Clune Center at Wilton High School.
The other dates of the Board of Selectmen’s budget calendar will be published on the town website as soon as they are finalized.
