The following is a press release from the Town of Wilton.
Officials from Aquarion Water Company and Eversource have announced they will restart road construction work installing utility pipe along New Canaan Rd./Rte. 106 on Monday, Mar. 3, weather permitting, and with oversight by the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CT-DOT).
Work will begin at the bridge on the Wilton/New Canaan Town line. The bridge will be closed Monday through Friday between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. (weekly). The work on the bridge will take approximately 4-5 months.
The detour route for vehicles on Rte. 106 driving into New Canaan will be via Rte. 7 to Rte. 123 (Norwalk) and back to Rte. 106 (New Canaan) during work hours (see map above).
All school bus stops will remain at their current locations. Emergency vehicles will be granted immediate access through the work area.
For project updates and for continued work on Rte. 106 by Aquarion/Eversource for the remainder of 2025, refer to the Route 106 New Canaan Road Project Update website.
The State of Connecticut will be overseeing the project and will have a state inspector on site.
