Mother’s Day and spring mean great plant sales in Wilton. Here are three not to miss:
WHS Organic Garden
The Wilton High School Organic Garden will be holding its Annual Plant Sale on Saturday, May 6 from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. at Wilton High School (395 Danbury Rd.). They will have tomatoes, peppers, herbs, and other edible crops as well as butterfly- and bee-attracting wildflowers. Plants will range between $3.00 – $5.00.
Wilton Garden Club
The Wilton Garden Club’s 78th Annual Mother Day Plant Sale is being held on Friday, May 12, from 12-6 p.m. and Saturday, May 13 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Wilton Town Green (101 Old Ridgefield Rd.). Selling native plants, trees and flowering shrubs, annuals, wildflowers, grasses, ground covers, organically grown vegetables and herbs, award-winning dahlias, tropical cannas, hanging baskets, patio planters, hanging glass terrariums, troughs, manure, fresh cut flowers, Mother’s Day gifts, and introducing, “Garden of Eden” estate sale of garden related goods. Gardening consultants will be on site to answer questions. Admission to the sale is free.
The WGC also runs a Plant Sale Pre-Sale, on Wednesday, May 10 from 9:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., at the Wilton Garden Club’s Greenhouse at Comstock Community Center (180 School Rd.). Shoppers will have first choice and great deals on unique annuals, succulents, herbs, hanging baskets, patio planters, troughs, glass terrariums, Mother’s Day flower baskets and more. Admission to the pre-sale is free.

Ambler Farm Transplant Sale
Supporting Ambler Farm and grow your own food at home. The farm offers a variety of vegetables that were started in its greenhouse and are sold starting in mid-April. Ambler Farm’s Transplant Sale is held every Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon at the farm (257 Hurlbutt St.), and plants vary by the week.
